News Verification : The media had reports that Iti Ltd. may merge with BSNL. The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company. Iti Ltd. has vide its letter inter-alia stated,"To overcome the financial constraints of the company, a revival proposal was submitted to the Government of India.
The Ministry referred the same to BRPSE and is under their consideration. Meanwhile, as per the communications from the Department of Telecommunications, ITI has made a presentation of its case of merger with BSNL on 17.07.2008. The matter is still under examination of the Government." |
