Market Commentary ..
How life will be without the stimulus and sea of liquidity is what could cause some discomfort among the bulls. The RBI has already kicked off the gradual process of ‘exit’ from the accommodative policy. With the latest IIP data turning out to be quite upbeat, the fiscal stimulus could also be withdrawn slowly. The unwinding of carry trade will be another big challenge.
The Indian market has been struggling with no clear directional bias after hitting the year’s high in the middle of October. Investors are locking in some gains even as they await confirmation that the economic recovery will translate into better profits. India Inc.’s earnings didn’t inspire the expected confidence, with only a few pockets emerging outperformers. Others managed to boost bottomlines owing largely to lower operating costs.

Pre Market Commentary ...
Today, we expect a cautious opening. Technically, the immediate support could kick in at around 4800-4820 while 4950 remains a tough resistance to crack. Climate change has been an issue gaining center-stage. Fears are that a ‘deep depression’ over the
Global cues are not offering a firm trend. There could be some more cooling as the market awaits the next batch of positive news – both from the economy and corporates. Withdrawal of stimulus measures would be a big test. Inflation too is gradually picking up and interest rates can only go up from here.
The market is set to remain sideways with mostly a positive bias. The overall undertone will remain at the mercy of overseas flows and global developments. Stick to a measured and stock centric approach. You can’t prevent a storm, but you could certainly ensure your safety.

Pre Market Commentary ...
Today, we expect another good start on the back of healthy global trend. F&O indicators have also turned bullish. Technically, there could be some resistance at 4950-5000 and beyond that at around 5150-5200. Better enjoy the ride as long as it lasts. As long as the liquidity tap is running, risky assets will be in demand. Don’t forget the risk part though. After a brief hiccup, the bulls seem to be in complete control again. The current momentum is likely to prevail in the near term.
The dollar continues to slide amid growing talk of its fate as the world’s reserve currency. And, when the dollar is dumped gold seems to benefit the most. The precious metal appears to be on a record-breaking spree. Other commodities too have gained, though concerns are mounting over asset bubbles. G20 has reiterated the pledge to keep emergency stimulus in place till recovery is fully secured. But, in India the RBI last month started withdrawing some of the accommodation. The PM says fiscal stimulus will also be withdrawn gradually.

Pre Market Commentary ...
Today we expect a flat to slightly higher start. Asian markets are mostly in the green. US stocks managed to overcome a grim jobs report. Volatility will persist. The quarterly numbers haven’t inspired as much confidence as one would have expected them to. Investment led growth is yet to materialise. Credit growth remains subdued. Inflation has started inching higher. Interest rates have bottomed out. The bulls may have escaped a big scare but the danger is still lurking. The threat of a fresh correction still looms given the uncertainty over the shape of recovery.
A measured ‘exit’ from the emergency stimulus measures is likely over the next few months. The market could again get withdrawal symptoms when the ‘exit’ begins.Immediate support is placed at around 4700. Below that support may kick in at 4640-4650. Resistance is expected around 4850-4900. Overall, near-term trading range is seen between 4500-5000.
