Positional Call : Sell ZEEL Nov Fut at 257 SL 262 Tgt 250,247.
Market Commentary ..
Today we expect a ‘flat-to-soft’ start. Things might look up later if some short covering takes place or if world markets resume their ascent. We don’t see a big crack as yet but some more softening is not ruled out. Technically, the Nifty could take support at 4910 and resistance is likely around 5060. Sugar stocks will remain in limelight due to farmers’ protest.
Sound reasons seem to be missing from the market. In face skepticism over the strength of the economic recovery and some pessimism over the future prospects is preventing a strong advance for some time. Like in October, when the Sensex and the Nifty lost about 7%, there appears to be another period of consolidation. Though the October losses have been recouped this month, the key indices are struggling to re-test the October highs. The sideways trend may continue for a while and much will hinge on how the global markets behave. The dollar movement is also being closely watched.

Pre Market Commentary ..
What is favouring the bulls so far is the relentless inflow of overseas money. This may continue as the dollar is unlikely to rebound sharply. But, as Christmas holidays approach there is likely to be some softening even in these flows. Local funds have already turned net sellers. Add to this, the anxiety over the shape of the economic recovery and the market could see some cooling. Valuations for many of the leading stocks are not too compelling either. In the immediate future, the market will remain sideways and listless though action would be seen in the mid-cap counters.

Market Ideas ..
The bears failed to make a big dent last month, but could yet again be licking their lips as the market struggles for direction. The fascinating thing is that every time the bears have attempted a comeback; the bulls have managed to make them run for cover. As a result, stocks are seeing dips and spikes without any significant change in the overall scenario. After a Marvelous Monday things have turned a bit quiet. Traded volume has cooled off from last week. Sensex and Nifty appear to be struggling above 17000 and 5000, respectively yet again. Technical and derivatives indicators are indecisive as well. Stick to stock specific action and keep a close track of relevant developments, both local and global, and you should do fine.

Pre Market Commentary ...
The Nifty futures trading in Singapore are pointing to a positive start. What remains to be seen is whether those gains can be extended further. One factor that some may have ignored is that the rally on Friday and Monday came on lower volume and turnover. Some caution after a big spurt is always good for the health of your portfolio. At the same time, we do not rule out the possibility of the market surprising on the way up. It could continue to ride the current momentum, driven mainly by carry trades and easy liquidity. FII inflows have crossed $15bn already. RIL could be in the limelight as it holds its AGM today.

Our morning call Buy EKC is going strong at 151.65.Book profit.
Pre Market Commentary ...
The health of the global economy seems to be getting better and better, if the latest GDP data from Europe and Japan are anything to go by. The US has already moved out of recession. Growth in emerging economies too has picked up pace. Markets are trading near their year’s high. But the UK is still in the red among the major economies.
There is a camp which is skeptical about the ongoing recovery. There are apprehensions as to whether the green shoots will stop growing in the absence of stimulus. There are also concerns about possible asset bubbles. Then there is a camp which is positive and hopeful, including the globally renowned investor Warren Buffett. Only time will tell which of these camps wins.
